Monsters University 3D (2013) Monsters University 3D Blu-ray delivers truly amazing video and audio in this exceptional Blu-ray release A look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at the University of Fear -- when they weren't necessarily the best of friends. For more about Monsters University 3D and the Monsters University 3D Blu-ray release, see published by Kenneth Brown on October 18, 2013 where this Blu-ray release scored 4.5 out of 5. Director: Writers:,,, Starring:,,,,, ». The Blu-ray releases of Monsters University make the Dean's List with top tier AV presentations, and the 1080p/MVC-encoded 3D experience and AVC-encoded 2D stunner are easily two of the best of their kind this year. The film's lush, lovely palette is warm, vibrant and oozes color. The California DMV does not accept these online classes for reinstatement of a California Driver's License. Primaries are striking, saturation is dead on, contrast is dialed in perfectly, black levels are bottomless, and there isn't the least little bit of noise. This is as straight-from-the-digital-tap flawless as it gets. Detail is magnificent, with refined, dare I say natural edge definition and exacting fine textures. Sulley's hair isn't a breeding ground for aliasing (an issue that afflicts Monsters Inc.), and every scale, sliver of slime, patch of fur, and speck of airborne dust is precisely and proficiently rendered. Add to that a complete lack of artifacting, banding and other creatures that go bump in the night, and you have a pair of presentations as impeccable as they are deserving of whatever hyperbole a gushing reviewer can muster. The 3D experience is perhaps even more impressive, with convincing depth and dimensionality, campus grounds that extend oh-so-believably into the screen, tentacles and spines that extend oh-so-amusingly outward, and the sort of 3D pop and minimal gimmickry the highest video scores are reserved for. Aliasing is again kept to the barest of bare minimums, and viewers whose displays are prone to crosstalk will encounter very little ghosting; at least none I'd call significant. This is, far and away, one of the finest Disney presentations of 2013 and yet another wondrous showcase of Pixar's ever-evolving animation. If you think the Monsters University video presentation is the big man on campus, wait'll you get a load of Disney's bristling beast of a Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround track. LFE output digs in and lets out mighty roar after mighty roar, granting Sulley's most frightening displays of power the low-end oomph the film's weightiest sounds deploy. Rear speaker activity is just as engaging, making the MU grounds and lecture halls every bit as immersive and enveloping as they should be.
